Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zoran Tegeltija, said yesterday that he hopes that Serbia will continue and enable regular food supply to BiH, even though BiH has not acceded to the agreement on food security.
Tegeltija pointed out that he was happy that he attended the signing of the agreement on food security between Serbia, Albania and North Macedonia today in Belgrade and, as he says, saw what it looks like when the countries jointly solve the problem of supplying basic foodstuffs and have a safe supply chain.
He also said that he was sad that BiH Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Saša Košarac was not present to sign this agreement on behalf of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Tegeltija also spoke about the fact that he and Minister Košarac wrote many letters to Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, Prime Minister Ana Brnabić and Serbian Agriculture Minister Branislav Nedimović in order to ensure supply from Serbia “so that BiH survives”.
Tegeltija stated that at the “Open Balkans” sessions, there was talk about tomatoes arriving in Belgrade from Ablanija, and noted that there are excellent tomatoes in Semberija, only 100 kilometers from Belgrade, while Tirana is about 700 kilometers from Belgrade.
“Goods will now arrive faster from Albania than from Semberija, because our trucks will stop at the borders. Those who block do not have that problem, they do not wait at the borders,” Tegeltija pointed out.
He once again thanked the leaders of the “Open Balkans” for the open door to Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and added that he will continue to repeat how important the “Open Balkans” is for the business community and the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“I hope that I will be successful in this”, Tegeltija said at the joint press conference, where the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, the Prime Ministers of Albania and North Macedonia, Edi Rama and Dimitar Kovačevski, and the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Dritan Abazović, spoke after the summit, reports RTRS.
