From the 12th to 14th September, the Davis Cup team of B&H will play for the third time for the placement in to the highest grade of Euro-African zone.
The opponent will be the team of Lithuania, against which the selected players of Amer Delić see a true chance for an historical accomplishment. The match will be played in the sports hall “Ramiz Salčin” at Mojmilo in Sarajevo.
“This is the third time we are playing in the final round to enter the First group, but also the first time that we host such a match. We believe this is our true chance. It will be difficult to achieve the result we want, we play against very experienced players, but we too have a great team. I hope that the fan’s support will be present as well because we truly need it.” – said Delić.
The lot of the schedule for the matches of the 3rd round of the 2nd group of the Euro-African zone will be published today. No matter who will be first on the field, from the Bosnian team we hear that everyone is equally ready and motivated.
“All players are eager to start playing. We are slowly adjustingto the field and who ever plays first will be ready.” – added Delić.
The best ranked Bosnian player Damir Džumhur believes in victory.
“We really want to play and I am sure that we will all do our best no matter the schedule. We are aware of the challenge ahead of us and we will try not to disappoint. This is a chance which we must not miss.” – said Džumhur.
The Davis Cup team consist of Tomislav Brkić, Nerman Fatić and Mirza Bašić as well.
“I know how the Lithuanians play, I have so far played against two of their players and they are quality, especially their first player Berankis. We don’t know the winner yet but I hope we will have enough strength for a set more.” – said Bašić.
