Croatian MEP Davor Ivo Stier (HDZ party) was elected as head of the European Parliament delegation for relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo.

After his appointment, he announced that he would pay special attention to the opening of accession negotiations with Bosnia and Herzegovina and the fulfillment of the reform agenda, as well as the European perspective of Kosovo with the protection of minority rights and the application of the constitutional order throughout the entire territory of the country.

“The geopolitical challenges that the EU is facing call for a stronger engagement in Southeast Europe. In this respect, stability and security in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo are of crucial importance for the entire continent,” said Stier.

Tineke Strik (Greens) from the Netherlands and Laurence Trochu (conservatives) from France were elected vice-presidents of the delegation.
