According to the proposal of the decision on the acceptance of the indebtedness of the Republika Srpska to the World Bank, the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development for the second Employment Support Project, the indebtedness of the Srpska is foreseen up to 14,000,000 euros, which is about 36 percent of the total indebtedness for BiH, said Assistant Minister of Finance Bojana Vasiljević Poljašević.
“The plan is that with the implementation of the second employment support project, more than 6,000 people from these categories will be employed,” said Poljašević.
Poljašević stated that the terms of this borrowing include a repayment period of up to 32 years, of which seven years are the payment deferral period.
“The interest rate includes the reference interest rate increased by the margin of the World Bank, which implies that this interest rate will be variable and will depend on the movement of EURIBOR during these 32 years,” said Poljašević explaining the proposal in the National Assembly of the RS.
According to her, the goal of the second project is to increase formal employment in the private sector among the target groups of registered job seekers.
“This will be achieved by financing a number of active labor market programs, as well as by providing support for employment mediation and improving the work of public employment services,” said Poljašević.
Poljašević said that with the implementation of the first employment support project in the Republic of Srpska, around 22,900 people were employed.
She stated that the goal of the project is to provide support for the employment of persons from vulnerable categories, namely young people, women, single parents, guardians, foster parents and their children, parents of children with special needs or serious illnesses, victims of violence and residents of homes for neglected children.
Poljašević stated that the state of the total debt of Republika Srpska as of April 30 is 40.8 percent of GDP, and the state of public debt is 34.4 percent of GDP.
“Our state of indebtedness is not even close to the legal limits, and especially it does not place us in the category of some extremely highly indebted countries,” said Poljašević.
