In hospitals in Republika Srpska (RS) this week, there is a trend of intensified decline of patients reporting severe acute respiratory infection symptoms, and end of flu season is approaching.
A total of 56 people died, and almost all of them died since the beginning of this year’s flu season, mainly older people, with severe multiple comorbidities, data from the entity Institute of Public Health said.
The number of reported cases of all three groups of respiratory infections is twice as low as in the previous period.
Since the beginning of the season, 59.071 acute respiratory infections have been reported in RS, and the highest reported cases of similar flu was found in the regions of Trebinje and East Sarajevo, and at least in Foca and Bijeljina, while most cases of severe acute respiratory infections were reported at the University Clinical Center of Republika Srpska and hospitals in Doboj and Prijedor.
By percentages, so far flu-like symptoms in RS have been reported by 1.27 percent of the population, and the majority are between the ages of 30 and 64.
