Decrease of Wholesale Price of Natural Gas in Bosnia-Herzegovina soon?

The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) has approved that the wholesale price of natural gas for distribution companies on the territory of the Federation of BiH, starting from January 1, 2020, is 585 BAM / 1000 Sm3, or 0,585 BAN / Sm3, without VAT (PDV).

The new price is 8.59 percent lower than the previous price, the FBiH Government stated in a statement on Thursday.

The decision was made following a request by the company for production and transport of gas BH-Gas d.o.o. Sarajevo to the Federal Ministry of Commerce to change the wholesale price towards distribution companies in the Federation of BiH.

The reason for the decrease is the movement of oil and petroleum products prices over the past nine months.

Unlike the first quarter of 2019, in which the purchase price of natural gas was increased by Gazprom Export, a decrease in the purchase price was recorded in 2019.

According to BH Gas, the decrease in the sale price during the winter season will result in an increase in natural gas consumption and result in higher price competitiveness of natural gas compared to other energy products.
