A delegation of the United Arab Emirates visited the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH (FTC BiH), led by the Minister of Foreign Trade of that country, Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, and held a meeting with representatives of the Chamber.

The interlocutors discussed the economic relations between the two countries at the meeting. They also presented general data on the foreign trade exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as data on the exchange with the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

According to FTC BiH, in the period from 2018 to 2022, the value of BiH’s exports to the UAE is 82 million euros, and its imports are 127 million euros. The imports-exports ratio with UAE, in that period, was 64.65 percent. The value of exports to the United Arab Emirates last year was 22.6 million euros.

“A large increase in imports from that country was recorded last year, and the value of imports was 62 million euros. We mostly imported raw aluminum, coffee, aluminum wires, electrical devices for wired telephony and copper wire,” FTC BiH announced.

During the meeting, the potentials for the development of trade relations were discussed, and it was concluded that it is necessary to update the existing agreement on cooperation between FTC BiH and Abu Dhabi Trade and Industrial Ecosea “ABTIK”. At the invitation of FTC BiH, the representatives of the entity chambers also attended the meeting.
