The head of SNSD, Milorad Dodik, reacted angrily after the decision of the Minister of Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) not to allow the landing of a Hungarian military aircraft in Banja Luka.
Dodik, among other things, announced new blockades of the institutions of BiH orchestrated by his personnel.
“That BiH is of no use to us. It forbids our friends to be able to land at the airport in Banja Luka. That is not their airport. Injustice has led to them having some kind of importance. That is the airport of Republika Srpska (RS). I am outraged at that servility. Why? Because he is friends with us? Is Szijjarto on a wanted list? No minister can act unilaterally. Then they wonder why people have different attitudes toward them,” said Dodik.
He then announced that he would ask his personnel in the institutions to block the adoption of decisions.
“You forbid someone to land in Banja Luka? And in Sarajevo, he can? Why can’t he land in Banja Luka? I will ask all our people to no longer decide. This cannot go otherwise. It is humiliating; we invited the man as a guest. We gave him formal appointments. We expected tomorrow to be a nice day, not something marked by some stupid Helez. They laugh, they think they have spited Dodik and Szijjarto. Do you want to cause a million spites and be satisfied? That BiH should be carried away by a storm, for everything alive not to exist. Alija told the Muslims Well, if you cannot make a democratic country, you do not deserve to have it,” said Dodik.
It should be recalled that the Minister of Defence of BiH, Zukan Helez, announced that he did not want to give consent for the landing of a Hungarian military aircraft at the Banja Luka airport, in which the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Peter Szijjarto, was supposed to be.
As reasons for not giving consent, he cited Hungarian support for Dodik, as well as the lack of explanation as to why the Minister of Foreign Affairs wanted to come specifically by military aircraft.
Namely, Szijjarto usually travels by military aircraft around the world, because of which Hungarian media have criticized him for years. The reason for the criticism is that Szijjarto chooses a more expensive way of flying, even though the law requires officials to use commercial flights for the sake of savings. However, Szijjarto disregarded this and continued to travel by military aircraft and charter flights.
“For years, the Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and Minister Szijjarto have been providing open support to the former president of the administrative part of BiH, RS, Milorad Dodik, in his actions that undermine the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and cohesion of BiH. Also, the Hungarian side has not provided any clear explanation as to why the Minister of Foreign Affairs is coming specifically by military aircraft,” said Helez.
