The President of the Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, commented on Vladimir Putin’s annual press conference and referred to his opinion on the status of the RS.

Among other things, Dodik said that the Russian president sent a direct message about the events in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“Putin said very directly what he had to say. We are a very small community and no more than 900,000 people spend the night in the RS, regardless of the fact that there are 1,100,000 of us on the list. That small community is the target of a global process called disempowerment RS from Western countries, primarily America and Great Britain,” said Dodik.

The big annual press conference of Russian President Vladimir Putin was held in Moscow on Wednesday, during which he also spoke about Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Over 600 journalists from Russia and other countries of the world are attending the press conference, and among them is a journalist from Bosnia and Herzegovina, who comes from the RS entity. He told Putin that conflicts are occurring all over the world, this also affects the Balkans, complicating an already difficult situation.

“You know the political situation in Bosnia, it is a de facto Western protectorate, they accuse Republika Srpska of supporting Russia and ‘spreading malignant Russian influence’. There is no Russian media in Serbia, but there is a flood of Western media,” said the journalist.

He asked how Putin sees the future of Republika Srpska and the entire region.

“Our assessments of this situation and your political leadership completely match. It’s really a shame that there is no Russian media, RT is not accepted here, right? I will ask my colleagues from RT and from VGTRK (All-Russian State Television and Broadcasting Company) to see what can be done,” Putin replied.

He also said that the future must be determined by the people living in this territory, regardless of the decisions imposed on them.

In addition, the Russian president spoke about numerous issues related to foreign and domestic politics. Among the topics were relations with the European Union and the United States of America.

“We didn’t spoil the relationship, they spoiled the relationship with us, neglecting our interests. How did the conflict in Ukraine start? Since the coup d’état in 2014. Before that, for decades we tried at all costs to build normal relations with Ukraine. Basically, Russians and Ukrainians are one people, what is happening now is a tragedy,” he said.

Putin also referred to the situation in Gaza and said that during his visit to Arab countries, he proposed the establishment of a Russian hospital. However, although the president of Egypt supported the idea, Benjamin Netanyahu said that this “will not be harmless”, Klix.ba reports.
