Dodik: RS Police will prevent the Arrest of Citizens who deny Genocide

Amendments to the Criminal Code came into force yesterday, prohibiting and punishing denying genocide and other war crimes in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). On that occasion, the member of the Presidency from the Republika Srpska (RS), Milorad Dodik, noted that the entity police would not allow the arrest, and thus the prosecution of the citizens of RS.

Dodik told that he would advocate for every citizen of RS to be protected.

“RS police have already received an order to protect and defend our people, whatever that means. If someone tries to arrest or detain, the RS police will prevent it,” Dodik explained.

He  pointed out that a special phone number would be in operation in RS, through which RS citizens would inform police if they needed protection.

“I call on all people in RS, upon any information about the possible activities of SIPA or the intelligence service, to inform the competent police,” stated Dodik.

Such statements, just like most of his previous statements, are very dangerous given that this would mean direct opposition of the entity police to the state one. However, time will show thateven this Dodik’s statement is another sign of desperation, which the leader of the SNSD “drops” daily since the outgoing High Representative Valentin Inzko imposed a ban on genocide denial.

It is obvious that according to “Inzko’s law”, he is the biggest candidate for prosecution, and if that does not happen for any reason, his inflammatory political rhetoric on the basis of which he collects votes in the elections is at a great loss, Klix.ba writes.
