The Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina today received a request from the legal representatives of the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, requesting a temporary ban on the execution of the verdict sentencing Dodik to one year in prison and a six-year ban on holding the office of President of the RS, pending the final decision of the Constitutional Court of BiH.

The Constitutional Court of BiH confirmed to Fena that this institution will respond to the aforementioned request in the coming period.

The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina has finally sentenced Dodik to one year in prison and a six-year ban on holding the office of President of Republika Srpska, for failure to implement the decisions of the High Representative in BiH.

Subsequently, the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina unanimously decided to end Milorad Dodik’s mandate as President of Republika Srpska.
