Dzeko: It was difficult, but We showed that We also have Quality

Edin Džeko once again showed his class and scored the equalizer in the 86th minute, which brought the BiH national team to extra time.

After the match, Džeko did not hide his satisfaction, emphasizing that BiH showed quality and deservedly won.

“A difficult match, they were certainly the favorites in front of their fans and certainly the media here saw them as favorites. But, we are a team with a lot of young and quality players, we also have quality and we showed that and deservedly won. We entered the first half a little shyly, there were mistakes, but I have a feeling that their goal came in handy. We started playing then, we scored a goal, I think we should have scored another and decided the game in 90 minutes. In the end, the lottery turned in our favor. Now we have the final match with the Italians who come to Zenica as favorites, but we have 90 minutes to show how much we can do. I am sure that we will give our maximum,” said Džeko.

The assistant for the goal was 18-year-old Kerim Alajbegović, who scored the last penalty for the victory of the BiH team. He says that he was sure that he would score.

“I am proud of the team. I knew that I would give the penalty, there was no nervousness,” said Alajbegović.

Tarik Muharemović played an excellent role in defense.

“We won, we showed what we know. This is just the beginning, we are going to win on Tuesday. It doesn’t matter who comes to Zenica, we will do our best. We believe in ourselves, we work, we train and we have no reason to be afraid of anyone. It was not easy tonight, but we endured,” said Muharemović.
