Captain of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s (BiH’s) football national team Edin Dzeko used his vacation in Dubai to meet one of the world’s most famous chefs – Nusret Gokce.
The popular Salt Bae has been spending more and more time in the company of well-known footballers, and on Friday, he met with Franck Ribery, where Gokce prepared him a steak rolled in 24-carat gold and worth 1,200 euros.
Dzeko shared the photo with Nusret on Instagram, and he thanked this Turkish chef for a nice social gathering.
“Thank you for a nice evening my brother. See you next time in another town,” Dzeko wrote.
Nusret Gökçe born in 1983, nicknamed Salt Bae, is a Turkish butcher, chef and restaurateur, who owns Nusr-Et, a chain of steakhouses. His technique for preparing meat became an internet sensation.
Gökçe visited several countries including Argentina and the United States between 2007 and 2010, where he worked in local restaurants for free, in order to gain experience as a cook and a restaurateur. After his return to Turkey, Gökçe opened his first restaurant in Istanbul in 2010 and later in Dubai in 2014.
His fame came from a viral video, “Ottoman Steak”, posted on January 7th, 2017 on his restaurant’s Twitter account. It was viewed 10 million times on Instagram, after which he was dubbed “Salt Bae” because of his peculiar way of sprinkling salt: dropping it from his fingertips to his forearm, and then falling onto the dish.
Since then, Gökçe has served multiple notable individuals due to his reputation.
