The accused are charged with being part of a broad and systematic attack by the Army of Republika Srpska (VRS), directed against the Bosniak and Croat population in the area of Bosanski Novi and its surroundings, from April 1992 to the end of November 1995, as members of the Military Police Squadron of the VRS Light Police Brigade, they acted contrary to basic provisions of international humanitarian law and committed war crimes against Bosniak and Croat victims who were illegally detained in the Fire House camp.

According to the indictment, the detained civilians were tortured, abused, beaten in cruel ways and treated inhumanely, inflicting severe and life-threatening injuries, which still have lasting consequences.

The indictment alleges that several civilians died as a result of the abuse, and that several detainees were taken by the accused in an unknown direction, where they were killed, and that the remains of several killed people have not been found to this day.

The Prosecution will prove the allegations of the indictment by calling 45 witnesses and attaching more than 150 pieces of material evidence.
