Commander EUFOR, Major General Maurizio Fronda, along with distinguishes members of German Army Headquarters, attended the Change of Command Ceremony of the German Contingent, marking the formal transfer of authority and responsibility between the outgoing and incoming Contingent Commanders.

The Change of Command Ceremony is a long-standing military tradition, symbolising the continuity of leadership, the transfer of responsibility, and the enduring commitment of military personnel to their mission. It also provides an opportunity to recognise the dedication and achievements of the outgoing commander and contingent, while welcoming those who will continue their important work in support of EUFOR’s mission.

During the ceremony, Major General Fronda expressed his sincere appreciation to the personnel of the German Contingent under the leadership of Lt Col Kügler for their professionalism, commitment, and valuable contribution to Operation ALTHEA. Their service has played an important role in supporting EUFOR’s mandate and maintaining a safe and secure environment for all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Major General Fronda also welcomed the incoming contingent, expressing confidence that they will continue the proud tradition established by their predecessors and further strengthen the excellent cooperation between Germany and EUFOR.
