In an operation carried out by Serbian, Dutch and Belgian security units with the coordination of the European Police Office (EUROPOL), the largest drug trafficking network in the Balkans was broken up, and 23 members of the criminal organization were detained.
EUROPOL stated that a total of 23 suspects were arrested, 13 in Serbia, seven in Belgium, three in the Netherlands and Peru, who belong to an organization described as “the largest drug trafficking network in the Balkans”.
It was announced that three million euros, 15 luxury vehicles worth two million euros, as well as a large number of weapons and explosive ammunition were seized in the operation.
It was stated that this network transported at least seven tons of drugs through the ports of Europe in 2020.
