Continuous production process lasted until the April of 1992, when there was a break in continuity due to the war. In October 2001, the factory became the property of the Austrian business group Asamer Baustoffe AG, when its revival started.

Today, the factory is considered as the largest cement producer in BiH, with an annual production of more than 800,000 tons of cement and 600,000 tons of clinker.

“We are exceptionally proud to be part of a reputable group Asamer which brought technological progress to the factory and introduced modern standards. It made one of the most modern and environmentally friendly factories in Europe from the Cement Factory Lukavac. Also, this privatization contributed to the economic development of Lukavac and Tuzla region,” said Director of the Cement Factory Lukavac, Izet Imamovic.

“After privatization, we made two major phases of construction and reconstruction in which we invested more than 200 million BAM. The factory was modernized and it achieved unimaginable business and environmental revival. The refinery currently achieves two and a half times greater production capacity than before privatization. Now, the factory is able to annually produce more than 800,000 tons of cement and 600,000 tons of clinker,” said Imamovic.

Cement from this factory is completely domestic product, since in the manufacturing process are used only local raw materials, and successful cooperation has been established with a large number of BiH companies as well.

When it comes to investments for the following period, Imamovic emphasized that they are planning to invest about 10 million EUR by 2018 in production and environmental protection, improvement of air quality and the quality of the working environment, which will contribute to the opening of the new work places.

“This year, we are marking 15 years since the successful privatization and we are planning to mark this anniversary as befits. In cooperation with local authorities, with whom we have great cooperation, we will organize a number of activities on the occasion of this important date, and we are planning to bring our owner to attend this anniversary in October in Lukavac, and give him acknowledgement for the success of the factory,” added Imamovic.
