The investigator of the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH is located near the village of Izbišno, Municipality of Foča, in the canyon of the Bistrica River, where he coordinates the work of authorized officials participating in the exhumation process.

The remains of at least one person were found at the location, which will be transferred to further forensic medical processing and identity determination through DNA analysis, in order to accurately determine the identity of the missing person. According to the currently available information, the remains could belong to a person of Bosniak nationality from the area of Foča, who disappeared in the fall of 1992.

In the exhumation process, a forensic pathologist, representatives of the Institute for Missing Persons of BiH, SIPA, ICMP, as well as police officers of the Ministry of Interior of the RS, PS Foča, who secured the location and provided crime-technical support, participated in the exhumation process.

After exhumation, the remains will be sent to KJKP “Gradska groblja” Visoko, for further forensic processing, announced the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH.
