In the last year in BiH was imported a total of 67,834 new and used cars, worth a total of 759,199,884.55 BAM.
The Head of Communications Department of the Indirect Taxation Authority (ITA) Ratko Kovacevic explained that last year in our country was imported a total of 56,873 used cars and 10 961 new ones, for which was paid a total of 162,304,233.91 BAM of duties.
Although the number of new imported vehicles is significantly lower than the “used vehicles”, some of them are worth hundreds of thousands of BAM.
The average net salary in BiH is only 830 BAM and highways are built by credit funds, but this did not worry the owner of the most expensive cars imported to BiH in the last year. He paid 235,188 BAM for his Mercedes AMG GLE 63 S.
In the second place of the most expensive cars that were imported in BiH in 2016 is again Mercedes S 500 4 Matic, worth 235,072.65 BAM and only a few BAM cheaper than the “top-ranked” one.
On the roads of BiH since last year is luxury BMW 750 Li x drive a limousine that was paid 216,842.21 BAM, then somewhat “cheaper” Mercedes Benz T: 221 S65 AMG paid 215,441.30 BAM, or turbo kit teon cup racer 2016- Seat 5F, that was paid 207,183.59 BAM.
Unlike those who have a lot of money and are willing to pay a lot for a new luxury vehicle, the owners of used cars are getting certain benefits during import.
There are no customs duties on the import of used passenger motor vehicles from the EU since the beginning of 2013, but only the VAT in the amount of 17 %, if the importer proves that it is a vehicle that its origin is in some of the EU member states.
“Origin is proved with a declaration or form EUR 1. According to the trade part of the Stabilization and Association Agreement with the EU, customs on used motor vehicles from the EU were gradually abolished in the period from 2008 to 2013, while customs duties for the new vehicles from the EU were abolished at the beginning of 2009,” said Head of Communications Department of ITA, Ratko Kovacevic.
