The Adriatic Sea Water Area Agency has issued a notification on the forecast of an extraordinary hydrological situation in the Adriatic basin area, due to the expected heavy rainfall in the period from 4 to 8 February, the Federal Civil Protection Administration (FUCZ) announced.

At most hydrological stations, an increase in water levels is forecast, especially in the floodplains of the Tihaljine-Mlada-Trebižat River and the Neretva River with its tributaries.

In the West Herzegovina County, the Trebižat – Humac water level measuring station recorded a water level of 292 centimeters at 7:45 a.m., while the regular flood protection measure is 280 cm and the extraordinary 330 cm. The water level trend is -/+0 cm, and regular flood protection measures are in effect.

FUCZ advises competent institutions to monitor the situation and act in accordance with their authority, adhering to the Federal Flood Defense Operational Plan, while it recommends additional caution to services implementing protection measures, rescuing people and material goods.
