Filandra: the Differences between the Actors in Power will come to Light

On Wednesday, Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) received a new Council of Ministers, and it consists of cadres gathered around SNSD, HDZ BiH, and the expanded “Trojka”.

Sacir Filandra, a professor at the Faculty of Political Sciences (FPN) in Sarajevo, said in an interview that ”there is no new energy, it is not felt, there is no excitement in the political public, there is no euphoria either.”

He says that the fact that the Council of Ministers was formed in a fairly short time after the parliamentary elections is a positive thing, which should be welcomed.

However, he emphasizes that the competence and quality of the elected officials is a completely different issue.

Filandra believes that the differences between the coalition partners will come to light very quickly.

”It is important for the actors on the political scene who make up the coalition to get their positions as soon as possible, and all the differences between them, which objectively exist – political, conceptual, and national – will come to light very quickly. So I share the opinion of that part of analysts and the public who believe that, after taking office, conditionally speaking – after dividing the spoils, crucial differences between the actors that make up that government will very quickly come to light,”Filandra said.

Moreover, he believes that this government will function like the previous one and that ”there is no basis for any big and objective expectations, just as the actors themselves do not make any big promises”.
