The 1st Krajina Film Festival (KFF) officially opened on Sunday night in Bihac, a city some 300 km northwest of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) capital Sarajevo, local media reported Sunday.

Krajina Film Festival is the first and only festival in Europe that combines more aspects of art, such as journalism, literature, music and architecture.

In the following seven days, thousands movie lovers will be able to watch 12 feature films and 16 short films from 24 countries,  and to enjoy in accompanying programs including a youth workshop, panels and discussions.

Over 2,000 feature-length and short films from all continents arrived to KFF’s address, which proves to be a great success for the festival in the first year of existence.

“I have to admit that this diversity in the modality of direction, variety of topics and genres is absolutely delighting,” said Haris Samardzic, artistic director of KFF.

The festival, which will be held until July 30 in six cities in BiH, will for the first time include Krajina Business Forum, presenting producers of organic food, hoteliers, IT and other companies offering online and other services outside the borders of BiH.
