Demarcation and establishing of boundaries between Montenegro and BiH is finished and signing the contract about the border is expected, allowing these two countries to resolve this issue first of all members of former Yugoslavia, as announced from the Montenegrin Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Negotiations about the performance of demarcation, establishing the boundaries and preparations for concluding a contract about a border between Montenegro and BiH were finished in May, but have started in October 2008.
On the final meeting, commission for the border of Montenegro and BiH, held on the 26th and 27th May in Sarajevo, all border documents were agreed and initialed.
Entire border was drawn on 19 topographical maps, according to the current data in the cadaster, with the list of coordinates of all turning points, from the country triangle between Montenegro, BiH and Serbia on the north side, to the one between Montenegro, BiH and Croatia on the south side.
“So, all border documents are verified by the members of the Commission, representatives of all three constitutive nations. Former administrative, cadastral border became a state border, which is in accordance to the attitude of Badinter’s Commission“ – as explained from the Montenegrian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
