The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted the Program of Economic Reforms of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the period 2023-2025 (PER FBiH) at today’s session in Sarajevo. The program will be submitted to the Directorate for Economic Planning of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as the coordinating institution at the level of Bosnia and Herzegovina in charge of drafting the Program of Economic Reforms of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the period 2023-2025.

Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a candidate country for accession to the European Union, has an annual obligation to prepare a PER for three years and submit it to the European Commission. By adopting this document, the FBiH Government has fulfilled its obligation, which refers to the submission of attachments for the preparation of the BiH Economic Reforms Program.

The program of economic reforms contains a medium-term macroeconomic and fiscal policy framework, as well as a comprehensive program of structural reforms aimed at improving the country’s growth and competitiveness. The European Commission submitted the “Guidelines for Economic Reform Programs”, which contain the basic principles for creating the PER, to make the information provided comparable to the programs of other countries.

PER of the Federation of BiH for the period 2023 – 2025 follows the structure of the document at the state level and consists of five chapters, namely the overall framework and policy goals, then the macroeconomic and fiscal framework, and the priorities of structural reforms, as well as an appendix with tabular overviews. The coordinator of the development of the PER, the FBiH Institute for Development Programming, in coordination and consultation with the relevant ministries, prepared all chapters of this document by the requirements of the European Commission and the Guidelines for the preparation of the PER.
