The mascot of the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) 2019 named Groodvey was presented in the Youth Center in Sarajevo at the Fair of innovation and entrepreneurship “Sarajevo Unlimited”.

The mascot was created by an advertising agency Visia from East Sarajevo, and it was chosen by voting at social networks. Two other potential mascots were Jezos and Jazzy.

A total of 28 young people participated in the competition for the selection of mascots for the EYOF 2019, and the audience selected Groodvey via social networks.

One of the creators of the mascot, Admir Isakovic, noted that the idea of Groodvey was developed by thinking about what is the most important element of winter games.

“That is how we came to the simplest idea and that is snow. We decided to create a mascot that would be a huge snowball whose task is to carry that entire winter event. The snowball has something like a hair, which represents all the athletes that are participating in the competition,” stated Isakovic.

The winner received a cash prize of 1,500 BAM.
