Holiday Atmosphere: Tourists filled the Streets of Sarajevo

The music and nice mood is present today in Sarajevo’s Bascarsija, where a great number of tourists, both from the countries of the region and European countries enjoys, writes Anadolu Agency (AA).

The streets are crowded with tourists who, as they said, are overwhelmed by what they saw in Sarajevo. A holiday atmosphere is felt everywhere. Most of the tourists arrived organized in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and will spend three days there, as much as the organized New Year celebration lasts. The tourists will welcome New Year with popular Zdravko Colic, during an open-air concert.

20-year-old Mihaela Pintar from Osijek, walked yesterday with a smile on her face through Bascarsija. She came with organized arrival.

“Today is the first day we are here. We liked the offer of Sarajevo the most. That’s something close to us, and it’s affordable. And I’ve never been there so let’s see. For the time being, it’s great,” said Mihaela for AA.

All along, she emphasized, they did not hide they are thrilled with what they saw.

“It’s all interesting to me. I can not single out anything. We’re here for three days. I hope I will come back,” said Mihaela.

21-year-old Tatjana Jelisavac arrived from Rijeka.

“I’m here for the first time. It’s very nice. I did not expect it to be so great,” Tatjana told.

Due to the public celebration of the New Year in Sarajevo, which will be held on the plateau in front of Sarajevo City Center (SCC) tonight in the period from 5 pm to 3 am on January 1st 2018, there will be a temporary suspension of traffic in the streets Zmaj od Bosne, Marsala Tita, Hiseta, Vrbanja, Fra Andjela Zvizdovic, Vilsonovo setaliste, Franjo Racki, Valter Peric, Franca Lehara, Halida Kajtaza – and Transferzala, Magribija, Kotromanic, Dolina, Augusta Brauna, Kralja Tvrtka, Herceg Stjepana, Safeta Mujica, Roberta C. Frasurea, Mustajbega Fadilpasica, Koste Hermana, Vrazova, Hamida Dizdara, Turhanija, Djoke Mazalica and Kalmija Baruha.

At the time of the suspension, the traffic will be redirected to alternative routes, and the tram traffic will be diverted to the train station. At the same time, a taxi station from Valter Peric Street will be dislocated to a location of taxi station in Street of Hamdije Kresevljakovic – Skenderija. As far as parking space is concerned, it is advisable to use the nearest large parking area at Zetra or in the area of University of Sarajevo (UNSA) Campus.

Within the concert area, there will be mobile toilets and Emergency Service vehicle, and control entry points will be set up at the beginning of the access roads which lead to the SCC plateau.
