reportint20120518152925170The IMF, led by Ron van Rooden, visited Banja Luka and Sarajevo from 15-24 in order to hold discussions on the recent economic developments and policies as part of the third review of the Stand-by Arrangement with BiH.

At the end of the visit van Rooden said that the IMF assessed the implementation of the program in relation to the targets set for the end of March and discussed further structural reforms aimed at strengthening public finances, preserving financial stability, creating more opportunities for investments and creating new jobs.

“The Mission expects that the remaining technical issues will be solved during the next few days. The Mission commends the authorities for the previous implementation of the program, and especially with regard to the adoption of a new law on favorable retirement in the FBiH. The Mission expects that this law would come into force to open the possibility for the IMF Executive Board to take into consideration the third review of the Stand-by Arrangement’’, said van Rooden and announced from the Office of the Resident Representative of the IMF to BiH.
