The Trade Union of the Administration of the Republika Srpska, in the presence of representatives of the Trade Union Board of the Republican Administration of Civil Protection and deminers, addressed the public today regarding the issuance of a decision reducing the income of deminers by up to 50 percent.

The trade unions also complain that these decisions were issued while negotiations on a new collective agreement are ongoing.

They remind that these are the same people who were declared heroes during their stay in Turkey.

After the decision of the Constitutional Court, Novitović canceled the compensation of almost 900 marks that the members of the demining service had due to the dangers of their work.

Novitović also appeared at the press conference, and denied that he canceled the fees, and there was a series of accusations between the director of RUCZ and the trade unionists. The salary for May, to which this reduction applies, has not yet been calculated and the workers have not even seen it yet.

Višković: Respect the court’s decision and workers’ rights

The Prime Minister of the Republika Srpska Radovan Višković said today that the decisions of the Constitutional Court of the RS are binding, but that this does not mean that we should go for the option of depriving someone of some rights, but that the challenged decision should be adapted to be legal and that the beneficiaries of the rights to which such a decision applies relations, get their rights.

Višković told journalists in Banja Luka that he did not have in his hands the decision of the Constitutional Court of Republika Srpska, which abolished the special collective agreement that defined certain rights of employees in the Republican Administration of Civil Protection, in order to see what was specifically contested.

“We had similar problems in the past and then we are going to correct what the Constitutional Court asked to be done in order to comply with the court decision,” said Višković.

He added that he spoke with the acting director of the Republic Civil Protection Administration, Milan Novitović.

Today, the Trade Union of the Administration of the RS pointed out that in the Republican Administration of Civil Protection, they started issuing new decisions to workers, reducing their incomes, while Novitović said that the new rulebook was applied due to the court’s decision and that workers’ salaries were not touched, but only special compensations.

“The decision of the Constitutional Court of the Republika Srpska, which entered into force on May 12, abolished the special collective agreement, which defined certain rights of employees in the Republican Administration of Civil Protection. Those rights, according to the decision of the Constitutional Court, cannot be applied at this time” , Novitović told Srna news agency earlier.
