Interpol announced an international warrant for Ivica Kolobara for suspicion of committing a crime against humanity and crimes against civilians during the war in BiH.
The State Court confirmed to the Balkan Investigative Network of BiH (BIRN BiH) that the Court of BiH issued a warrant for launching an international warrant for Kolobara, as requested by the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH at the investigation stage.
According to Interpol’s website, Kolobara owns Bosnian-Herzegovinian and Croatian citizenship.
In the final verdict of Marko Radić, Dragan Šunjić, Damir Brekal and Mirko Vračević from 2011, several times Ivica Kolobara is also mentioned, and they all were found guilty of crimes against humanity committed in Mostar. The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) sentenced the accused Radić to 21 years’ imprisonment, but the Zagreb County Court last year reduced Radić‘s sentence to 12 and a half year. The Court of BiH sentenced Šunjić to 16, Brekalo to 20, and Vračević to 12 years in prison.
It was found that in the period from July 1993 to March 1994, as a member of the Office of the First Croatian Battalion of the Second Brigade of the Croatian Defense Council (HVO) in whose zone of responsibility was located Vojno, knowing of a widespread and systematic attack on Bosniak civilian population of Mostar municipality, ordered, committed, instigated, aided and supported the attack on Bosniak civilians.
They are charged of murder, imprisonment, torture, sexual assault, persecution and other inhumane acts.
