On Sunday, the Israeli army confirmed an artillery attack on Lebanon in response to the rocket incident, reports Anadolu.

Israeli forces “are now attacking with artillery fire the area in Lebanon from where a few minutes ago shooting was carried out on Israeli territory,” the Israeli army said.

It said it is “prepared for all scenarios and will continue to protect the security of the people of Israel.”

Israel shelled the Kafar Shuba hills and the town of Al-Mari in southern Lebanon after the mortar attack.

“We targeted three Israeli locations in the occupied Shebaa Farms area,” Lebanon’s Hezbollah said on Sunday.

Lebanese authorities have not commented on the incident.

At least 256 Palestinians, including 20 children, have been killed in Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said on Sunday.

1,788 Palestinians were reported injured, including 121 children.

Israeli media announced that 300 Israelis have been killed so far in attacks by the armed wing of Hamas, and the number of injured across the country has risen to 1,590, AA reports.
