It was concluded that the Relations between BiH and Croatia are at their lowest Point

The conclusions of the conference “Relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and the Republic of Croatia – open issues and perspectives” were presented yesterday at the Council of the Congress of Bosniak Intellectuals in Sarajevo.

Namely, the organizers of the conference are the Council of the Congress of Bosniak Intellectuals, the Croatian National Council of BiH, the Serbian Civic Council of BiH, the Forum of Parliamentarians of BiH 1990, JKPHD La Benevolencija and the Center for the Promotion of Civil Society.

As Kasim Trnka, an expert in constitutional law, pointed out at a press conference yesterday, institutional relations between BiHand Croatia are almost at their lowest point, and inappropriate rhetoric is causing unrest even in relations between representatives of institutions, as well as those who present themselves as representatives of the people.

”The Republic of Croatia should speak more respectfully about BiH, unlike Croatian President Zoran Milanovic, who has a completely different connotation in his presentations. We are witnessing daily interference in the internal affairs of BiH from both the East and the West. We believe that relations would be improved if the agreement on the state border, which has not yet been ratified by the Croatian parliament, is finally ratified, just like Serbia does not want to sign the border agreement with BiHciting various reasons,” mentioned Trnka.

The aim of the conference was to create awareness both in BiH and in Croatia about the importance of good neighborly relations between the two countries and all the peoples who live in them.

The Dean of the Faculty of Law in Zagreb, Ivan Kopric, who emphasized that it is a good time to re-open the issue of the Europeanization of BiH, notes that Croatia was the last to join the European Union (EU), and that in that process it profited significantly, not only financially, but also in terms of changing the functioning of the state.

Croatian historian Hrvoje Klasic stressed that quality, different education, unlike the educational system used in BiH, is a prerequisite for the development of a society.

As it was pointed out, BiH and Croatia have the longest border and a historical context of connection that should produce cooperation, trust and common progress. But, communication channels have not been built recently, even at the level of cooperation between civil society organizations, the academic community, and public figures, Vijesti.ba reports.
