Izetbegovic SDA-SBB Reconciliation bakirizetbegovic.baThe president of the Democratic Party (SDA), Bakir Izetbegović, today met four representatives of the House of Representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Šemsudin Mehmedović, Senad Šepić, Salko Sokolović and Sadik Ahmetović, who sent a reform seeking letter to the head of the SDA.

Izetbegović said to the press that the meeting was open, some complaints were justified and he would work on accelerating the implementation of resolutions of the SDA Congress that would bring statutory changes.

“SDA has long been directed towards “one man one vote” as well as towards creating a number of mechanisms that would make the process of elections within the party completely open and transparent. It has been agreed that clearer rules should be defined in forming the lists for the elementary elections which would guarantee to get the best ones high on the lists” Izetebegović said.

He added that the agreements have been reached, and pointed out that everyone must work on consolidation of the party.

Šepić said that all of this has been done to make the situation inside the SDA better.

It is important, as he said, that they had an opportunity for a discussion, and their meeting was open and concrete.

They submitted their proposals, problems and discontents. Everything we have done by now, we have done it to make the SDA stronger. The problems we have had damage everybody- Šepić pointed out.

One of the resolutions on the SDA Congress was the Amendment of the Statute in the further period.

By the end of year we expect to change the statute, to democratize it the way we think is the best- Šepić concluded.

The meeting was held before today’s session of the SDA Course in Sarajevo.
