There will be no new reception of migrants in the migrant camp in Blazuj, no new migrant camps will be formed in Sarajevo Canton (SC), and the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of SC will strengthen cooperation with the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs in the following period in order to start treating migrants more adequately in this canton.

These are the conclusions from yesterday’s meeting that the Minister of Internal Affairs of CS, Admir Katica, held with the Minister of Security of BiH, Selmo Cikotic, organized to find adequate solutions to current issues related to the migrant crisis.

The meeting was also attended by the Minister of the Internal Affairs of the Una-Sana Canton (USC), the head of the Uniformed Police Sector, the director of the Border Police, the director of the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs, and the Head of the IOM Office in BiH.

”Next week, together with the Minister of Security of BiH and the Mayor of Ilidza, I will visit the migrant camp in Blazuj, and determine the necessary measures to improve security. We have initiated a clearer definition of the “house rules” within the migrant camps, an enhanced role of police officers, as well as the procurement of the necessary material and technical equipment for the police, ” Minister Katica announced the planned activities.
