KEMIS-BH to open the first Regional Center for Bioremediation?

Just a year ago, KEMIS-BH Ltd. completed the investment of the construction of a warehouse for dangerous goods, in accordance with all required standards and legal regulations.

“We are proud to announce that we are almost done with the construction of the” Center for bioremediation of land contaminated with hydrocarbons”, which should start operating from December 2017,” as confirmed by this company.

The Center for Bioremediation is constructed in the industrial zone of Lukavac, and the value of this investment is around 300,000.00 BAM. It is the first center of its kind in the area of BiH, Serbia, and Montenegro.

Conditions for land decontamination and its re-use for different purposes will be created in accordance with European standards after the establishment of a functional Center for Bioremediation. The project will lead to environmental relieve and reduction of environmental impact, improvement of the development of waste management system in BiH, and it will also further contribute to the development of new technologies and the creation of new workplaces.

“Moreover, this is the first form of the protection of groundwater, and we already know that water will be one of the most important natural resources in the future,” as said from KEMIS, and they also added that all countries in Europe are implementing (bio) remediation of land during demolition and new construction works, privatization of industries, as well as in case of the well-known causes of contamination.

KEMIS is the largest exporter of hazardous waste from BiH to the countries of the EU. This company has special storage capacities of around 10,000 square meters for the storage of hazardous waste until its final disposal in the incineration plants of Western Europe.
