This year’s Rolla Mostar Half Marathon was special due torunners from Kenya, who are performing under the Hungarian flag. The winner in the men’s competition was Shedrack Kimaiyo, while the first place in the women’s competition was won by Philice Kipkerio.

”We come from Kenya, and we are currently based in Hungary. The feeling was good from start to finish, there were no problems. The weather was good, everything was good,” explained the winner Shedrack Kimaiyo after crossing the finish line.

He ran the 21-kilometer section in 1:07:48, setting a new record for the Mostar race.

The second and third places were won by his compatriots. Second was Ezekiel Kipkorir in 1:07:56, while third was Albert Kipkorir Tonui in 1:07:57.

Kenyan Philice Kipkerio was the fastest among women. She crossed the finish line in 1:16:23.

Mirzet Halilovic from Tuzla also ran his 67th half marathon yesterday.

”This trail is our favorite for running. These are the first half-marathons of the year and it is necessary for the body to get used to this temperature. We all really like to come to Mostar, the organization is excellent, all praise to Franjo and the team,” said Halilovic.

The organizers are also satisfied with the half marathon.

”I am proud of more than 200 volunteers who are on the trail, more than 19 entertainment stations. You can see here a large number of fellow citizens to support the runners who came to us from more than 51 countries of the world,” said Franjo Lovric, president of the Mostar Run Weekend Organizing Committee.

As part of the Mostar Run Weekend, a humanitarian race startedyesterday at noon. The citizens of Mostar and the guests had the opportunity to run a 4-kilometer course, thereby raising awareness of the importance of physical activity.

At the same time, the goal of the humanitarian race is to collect funds for equipping the day room of the Mostar pediatrics, Fena reports.
