Kratkofil Plus Festival Starts Tomorrow

filmEverything is ready for this year’s international film festival Kratkofil Plus that starts tomorrow in Banja Luka, said today at a press conference in the festival center in the youth center.

The festival will last until 28 July, and 43 films in the competition program and films in the review part of the festival will be shown.

Daily screenings will take place in the youth center, and in the evenings in Kastel castle.

The festival will open with the film “Harry Dean Stanton: Partly Fiction”, that will, in cooperation with the US Embassy in BiH, be shown in Kastel at 22:45 after the competition program.

There will be discussions with filmmakers of the documentary “Pussy Riot: Punk Prayer” Maxim Pozdorovkin and Mike Lerner on 26 July.

Representatives of NISI MASA, the European network for young filmmakers, will also host this year’s festival and a discussion with them is planned for Saturday, 27 July.

A lecture will be held as part of the review of the newest student films of the Banja Luka Academy of Fine Arts.

The Grand Prix award will be handed out for the best film of the festival, and awards for best experimental, documentary, animated and regional film, as well as special jury recognition.

The jury will consist of Božidar Trkulja, filmmaker, animator, musician, writer and film critic from Zagreb, Corina Schwingruber Ilić, a Swiss visual artist and director, and Daniel Ebner, Director and selector of Kratkofil partnership festival of Vienna Independent Shorts from Vienna.

The audience award will take place this year as well.
