On Saturday, Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, at a meeting with representatives of the European Union (EU), the United States (U.S.), Germany, France and Italy, where they discussed the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia, emphasized that a new approach to dialogue is necessary, reports Koha.

In a press release from the Prime Minister’s office, it is stated that Kurti told Western diplomats that “the main priority and urgent issue for Kosovo is its security, after the incidents in Banjska on September 24th“, and that “punishment is necessary so that such attacks do not repeat”.

“At the meeting, they discussed the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia, that is, the implementation of the Basic Agreement from Brussels on February 27th and the Annex for its implementation from Ohrid on March 18th. The Prime Minister emphasized that qualitative reflection and a new approach are necessary. All five delegates offered their new plan for progress, for which the Prime Minister expressed his gratitude. The talks must be intensively continued,” the press release states.

European envoy Miroslav Lajcak, who arrived in Pristina yesterday morning accompanied by the U.S. special representative for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar, and the envoys of France, Germany and Italy, after a meeting with Prime Minister Kurti in Pristina, said that Kosovo should start establishing the Community of Serbian Municipalities.
