The Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs in B&H Zlatko Lagumdžija received yesterday in separate meetings the Ambassador of Russia in B&H Alexander Botsan-Kharchenko and the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in B&H Ulrike Maria Knotz.
Lagumdžija spoke with Ambassador Botsan-Kharchenko about the implementation of the judgement of the European Court for human rights on the case “Sejdić-Finci”. Minister Lagumdžija expressed his belief that an agreement on the solution of the judgement that would be in accordance with European principles and standards is possible. The agreement would lead B&H to further internal integration, which is equally important as the integration of B&H to the EU. He pointed out B&H’s interest in improving economic cooperation with Russia.
It was highlighted that B&H considers Germany as one of its main proponents in Europe, and the support of Germany to the process of integration of B&H to the EU and NATO is of great importance. In that regard, B&H expects that after Germany forms its new government, B&H would be the focus of German interest in the Balkans.
