Lifeless Body Of Man From Italy, Who Went Missing In Banja Luka, Found

The lifeless body of the young man, Cvijan Simic from Italy, who had been the subject of a search in the area of Banja Luka for several days, was found on Wednesday in the locality of Surjan, Klix.ba writes.

Police officers of the Mrkonjic Grad Police Administration, the Banja Luka Police Administration, and members of the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit of the Ministry of the Internal Affairs, while searching the terrain in Surjan, in the municipality of Mrkonjic Grad, found the lifeless body of a male person.

More precisely, the police state that the body was found in a swamp next to the Vrbas River.

With the consent of the duty prosecutor of the Banja Luka District Public Prosecutor’s Office, an on-site investigation was carried out by police officers of the Mrkonjic Grad Police Administration in the presence of a coroner physician from the “Dr. Jovan Raskovic” Health Center.

By identifying the lifeless body, it was determined that it was C.S. from Italy, whose disappearance was reported on January 4th, 2026, to the Banja Luka Police Administration.

An autopsy of the body has been ordered and will be performed at the Institute of Forensic Medicine of Republika Srpska (RS) in Banja Luka.

The brother of the deceased young man, Kosta Simic, who had been organizing the search for days, said goodbye to his brother on social media with the words:

“My love, rest in peace.”.
