Lukac: Citizens have no Reason to worry about EUFOR Members on the Streets

The Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republika Srpska (RS), Dragan Lukac, stated that the citizens have no reason to be worried about the members of EUFOR on the streets, even in Banja Luka, or to feel threatened.

“I believe there is no basis for any fear or apprehension of war. This will not, cannot, and must not happen in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). No one must contribute to it. EUFOR here should be aimed at security and stabilization forces, which is their mandate and that is how they should behave, “Lukac told.

Lukac noted that, within their mandate, they have the opportunity to be present in BiH, with the forces they deem necessary.

“EUFOR is present on our streets in various forms after the war. Once with much larger equipment, combat vehicles, helicopters, today with some smaller jeeps. Those in their mandate who draw from the Dayton Agreement have the opportunity to be present in BiH, and to assess with how many forces to be there, “ Lukac concluded.
