Carolija na mjeseciniOn the ninth and last day of the Festival, the audience had the opportunity to watch MAGIC IN THE MOONLIGHT, by the cult director Woody Allen. This screening officially closed the 20th edition of the Sarajevo Film Festival.

MAGIC IN THE MOONLIGHT is a romantic comedy set in the 1920s on the opulent Riviera in the south of France.  A master magician tries to expose a woman presenting herself as a psychic medium as a fake. What follows is a series of events that are magical in every sense of the word and send the characters reeling.

Woody Allen is one of the most well-known and respected names in the film industry today. His career as writer, director, actor and producer spans over thirty years and continues to thrive.

After writing routines for comedians and performing as a nightclub comic, he wrote the Broadway play DON’T DRINK THE WATER (1966).

For MIDNIGHT IN PARIS (2011) Allen received his 7th Oscar nomination for Best Director and his 14th (a record) for Best Original Screenplay; he won the latter award. MAGIC IN THE MOONLIGHT is his latest film.

The screening was attended by Simon McBurney, who stars in the film.
