The Ambassador of Switzerland to BiH Andre Schaller visited yesterday the Mayor of Sarajevo Ivo Komšić in order to congratulate him both on his appointment and for the Day of the City of Sarajevo.
Mayor Komšić expressed satisfaction with the successful cooperation of the city of Sarajevo with the Swiss Embassy, which is based on friendly ties.
“There was particularly intensive cooperation at a cultural level, given that the Swiss Embassy helped restore Kino Meeting Point and the BiH Art Gallery’’, said Komšić.
Ambassador Schaller spoke of the program of cooperation of the Swiss Embassy to BiH at all levels of BiH government, especially expressing satisfaction that Mayor Komšić sent a very similar message at the official session of the City Council of Sarajevo.
He also stressed that the Swiss Embassy has a true and great friend in the City of Sarajevo for the realization of numerous projects, from Sarajevo Film Festival to the East West Center for contemporary art to the renewal of the cable cars at Trebević.
The Swiss Winter Center Graechen, with the engagement of the Swiss Embassy to BiH, donated the equipment for the construction of the cable cars to Sarajevo and the Armed Forces of Switzerland as part of EUFOR were responsible for transport of the equipment.
