Members of Presidency of BiH-Pakdemirli: Bilateral Cooperation extremely successful

Bilateral cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and Turkey is extremely intensive and successful, without open issues, as it was said in Sarajevo at the meeting of members of the Presidency of BiH and Bekir Pakdemirli, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Turkey.

Members of the Presidency of BiH hosted the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Turkey, Bekir Pakdemirli.

Milorad Dodik, the Chairman of BiH Presidency, and other two members Zeljko Komsic and Sefik Dzaferovic, expressed satisfaction with the visit of Minister Pakdemirli, pointing out that it comes at an important moment for the development of overall relations between BiH and the Republic of Turkey.

The interlocutors assessed that the bilateral cooperation is extremely intensive and successful, without open issues, and they expressed interest in continuing this cooperation in the future.

As it was assessed, the visit of the members of the Presidency of BiH to official Ankara, at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, will contribute to further strengthening of relations and improvement of cooperation.

At the same time, it was stated that the signing of the Agreement on Cooperation in Infrastructure and Construction Projects, including the Sarajevo-Belgrade highway, will strengthen and consolidate the current favorably bilateral relations.

BiH Presidency members expressed gratitude to the Government of the Republic of Turkey and President Erdogan for their support and assistance in the implementation of infrastructure and other projects in BiH.

On this occasion, the Free Trade Agreement between BiH and the Republic of Turkey was supported, which, as it was pointed out, will lead to the increase of trade, and thus to the strengthening of the economies of both countries.

When it comes to the context of economic cooperation, extremely successful agricultural cooperation was emphasized, a segment in which BiH has a surplus.

The interlocutors expressed readiness to support the initiative for signing a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of forestry, in order to support cooperation in this economic area.

Support was also provided for the signing of protocols that will regulate cooperation in other areas of common interest, such as rural development, university cooperation, sports, and other areas.

During this meeting, the members of the Presidency of BiH expressed gratitude for the active and dedicated engagement of the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to BiH, Haldun Koc,  on the implementation of various projects in BiH, as it was announced by the Presidency of BiH.
