The President of the Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, firmly rejected any possibility of changing the borders of the Republika Srpska or impairment of its institutional capacity. Moreover, he said that his political struggle in all the previous years was for the preservation of the Republika Srpska and responsibilities that are assigned to the Dayton Agreement.
When asked to comment on the statement by the Vice-President of the Republika Srpska, chosen from the Croatian people, Josip Jerkovic, who spoke about the possibility of amending the limits of the Republika Srpska, Dodik said that it is absolutely unacceptable and unworkable, and that, according to the previous statements by officials of the HDZ Party, it represents his personal opinion.
Will the Federation of BiH enter the process of federalization, this is a question for the Federation and politicians have a political responsibility there, added Dodik.
“It is worrying that political parties from the Republika Srpska, that fell upon Jerković’s obviously personal opinion, are keeping quiet about the statements and actions of the Bosniak member of the BiH Presidency Bakir Izetbegovic, whose overt political platform is collapsing, and then annulling the Republika Srpska” said Dodik.
Yesterday, Jerković said that he hoped that, after the internal reorganization of BiH, as part of the Croatian federal unit much of the Posavina and parts of the Republika Srpska could be merged as well.
