Modern workshop for repair of the rolling stock has been built in the place of the old one, next to the railway that leads from Čapljina to Metkovići.

The workshop was in bad shape for years, and in 2010, FBiH Railways decided to rehabilitate it and the works started in November 2011.

The great deal of the job was done by workers of FBiH Railways, and thus 176 000 BAM was saved, said Rešad Mulaomerović, the president for coordination and supervision on building the workshop Čapljina.

He added that since the price is much lower than the agreed price, FBiH Railways expanded the object, and the overall price of the works was 3.5 million BAM.

This contemporary workshop has 2500 m2 of working space, and at the first floor there are offices, kitchen, toilets, which is an additional 600 m2 of space.

For storage of materials and spare new facility of 480 m2 was built.

In order for workshop to be fully functional, it is necessary to equip it with necessary machines and tools, such as such as bridging crane capacity 20 tons, proper forklift, compressor tools, creating conditions for the sandblasting and painting of cars … Only when it is fully equipped, the workshop will show its full potential.
