kinoteka_1For several years, Center Municipality Sarajevo has been helping in the work of the public institution Kinoteka B&H, which exists in the area of central Sarajevo municipalities.

Kinoteka B&H belongs to one of seven institutions from the area of cultural significance to B&H that does not have a resolved status and financing. Therefore, this year the municipal budget allocated 10.000 BAM to assist the operation and implementation of planned activities of this cultural institution, announced Municipality Center.

The Protocol on the implementation of the budget of the grant was signed by the mayor of Centar municipality Dževad Bećirević and Director of B&H Kinoteka Devlet Filipović.

With words of gratitude to the municipality and mayor for the support and successful long-term cooperation, Director Filipović added that every aspect of support is significant to this institution, while the money will be used for necessary expenses for maintenance work on film funds and other film materials, as well as other overhead costs, due to the fact that it operates in difficult circumstances.

‘’The activity of B&H Kinoteka consists of archival, research and screening departments. Its film archive protects and preserves film material that is of historical, artistic, cultural, educational and scientific importance. There are features, documentaries, short and animated films that make up the B&H national collection, as well as a significant fund of foreign films ‘’, she said.
