Muslims celebrating the Sacred Night Lailat al Miraj

13162257_1170785619639059_701970962_nAppropriate religious programs will be held in mosques in the region and around the globe tonight, on the occasion of the marking of one of the most significant nights in the Muslim calendar, Lailat al Miraj.

On the occasion of the sacred night Lailat al Miraj, the Majlis of Islamic Community Sarajevo organizes official ceremonial program in the mosque Dobrinja II after the Maghrib prayer, one of the five daily prayers of Muslims.

Lailat al Miraj represents the night when the Prophet Muhammad traveled from Makkah to the sacred temple Al Aksa in Jerusalem, followed by his sacred ascent to the heavenly spheres were Muslims were ordered to perform salat, regular prayer, as one of the fundamental religious obligations and one of the foundations of religion.

In addition, the Administration for Education and Science of the Riyasat of Islamic Community in BiH, in cooperation with the Administration for Religious Issues, the Gazi Husrev-Bey’s Waqf, faculties and madrasahs of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, organizes the Night of Quran on the occasion of the sacred night Lailat al Miraj and the Waqf Days.

Participants in the program are the readers of Quran, representatives of faculties and madrasahs of the Islamic Community, who are among the best readers of Quran in the region according to their achievements and results. Prof. Dr. Zuhdija Hasanović will give a lecture as well.

During the program, the attendees will be reminded of the development of educational-upbringing institutions of the Islamic Community, as well as of the value of benefactors who significantly contributed to the establishment of waqfs of educational-upbringing and scientific institutions and to the development of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Furthermore, they will be reminded of the most deserving present benefactors who continue improving the practice of benefaction at the territory of BiH.
