The Ministry of Transport of CS provided new measure for regulation of traffic at a standstill and punishment for careless drivers. A mechanical lock will be put on the wheels of illegally parked vehicles, which will immobilize the car until the compensation for unblock is paid.

“Setting of the mechanical lock on the wheels will be a pre-measure before removing illegally parked vehicles. Mechanical lock will be placed on parking lots on vehicles that are parked longer than anticipated, and if the owner does not appear,” said spokesman of PUC “Rad”, Mirza Ramic.

He added that detailed bylaws that will accurately define the way of setting of mechanical lock and the amount of fees are not defined yet. Once this is done, according to Ramic, the team of PUC “Rad” will start applying this method.

He said that this method will be applied to all public parking lots, besides those with ramps.

“Vehicles that are parked on the roads, without clearly pronounced signs that parking is permitted, will be sanctioned by setting the mechanical lock on the wheels, and if improperly parked vehicle interferes with the normal flow of traffic, it will be removed from the road,” added Ramic.
