13624987_1228647670519520_2121705024_nGerman organization for consumer protection Foodwatch conducted tests that revealed that Kinder chocolates and other two brands are positive on dangerous ingredients that cause cancer. Agency for Food Safety in BiH stated that they have not obtained information that these dangerous products were delivered to the market of BiH so far.

The so-called aromatic mineral oils, which are cancerous, were found in the chocolates Ferrero Kinder Riegel, Lindt Fioretto Nugat Minis and Sun Rice Classic.

“Immediately after obtaining the information, the Agency started gathering and evaluating the available data on the effect of mineral oils, primarily aromatic hydrocarbons from mineral oils (MOAH) and saturated hydrocarbons from mineral oils (MOSH) on the health of the consumers. Moreover, from the relevant European Commission (DG SANTE) we requested data that the Commission disposes with in this case. Until this moment, through the System of fast warming for food and animal feed (EU RASFF) the Agency did not obtain information that the health defective products that might be brought into connection with Foodwatch’s research were delivered to the market of BiH,” stated the Agency for Food Safety in BiH.

The Agency stated that they currently do not dispose with officially confirmed information that any measures foreseen in official food controls were implemented at the territory of the EU on the basis of the mentioned research.

“In case of obtaining the appropriate information on potential risks coming from products included in the research of the mentioned non-governmental organization, as well as on other potential risks for the health of consumers in our jurisdiction, the Agency will timely and in cooperation with pertinent inspection bodies in BiH undertake the legally prescribed measures and inform the public about results,” the Agency stated.

Foodwatch urged the traders to withdraw the chocolates Ferrero Kinder Riegel, Lindt Fioretto Nugat Minis and Sun Rice Classic from shelves on Monday. This organization tested more than 20 different kinds of chips and chocolates and discovered the existence of saturated mineral oils which can accumulate in the human body and cause organ damage, and children are especially at risk.
