No Nation Fashion brand presented its creations in New York

The brand No Nation Fashion will premiere its collection, made on the theme of sustainable fashion, as part of the Sarajevo Fashion Week.

Fashion designer and creative director of No Nation Fashion Aleksandra Lovrić said in an interview with FENA that all the models were made in cooperation with migrants temporarily staying in reception centers, who showed incredible skills and potential.

According to her, children, as well as girls and boys, members of the local community, who had the desire to learn something more about fashion, participated in the creation of models together with migrants. They worked together with designers – biodesigner Maja Halilović, professor at the Faculty of Textile Technology Dejla Ramić and artist-designer Armin Ćosić.

Lovrić says that in the Summer School of Sustainable Fashion, they produced six different outfits within five days.

“The school itself consisted of a theoretical and practical part, so we came out with a lot of knowledge about what sustainable fashion is and how we should behave in the future when it comes to mother earth and nature,” said Lovrić.

Speaking about the materials they used, she says that everything is recycled, and that this is the point of sustainable fashion. She stressed that the ‘zero waste’ technique is used, which means there is no waste, “because by throwing away we are harming the Planet”.

The audience in New York recently had the opportunity to see the creations of the fashion brand No Nation Fashion, which were created in temporary reception centers in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Lovrić points out that they are very proud of the success they never dreamed of.

”We are very proud of our presentation that we recently had at New York Fashion Week. It was a great honor and pleasure for us to exhibit our three models that were created in our small workshop, where we designed them and where ‘people on the move’ had the opportunity to show their creativity and skills,” stated Lovrić, and expressed her gratitude to the European Union and IOM, under whose roof all this was created.

She hopes that in the future they will have the opportunity to participate in fashion weeks and that through this project, the ‘people on the move’, who are temporarily staying in Bosnia and Herzegovina, will provide dignity and a better future for their lives.

Speaking about how the brand No Nation Fashion got the chance to appear in New York, she said that in Tuzla, at the International Festival of Contemporary Women, they had the opportunity to collaborate with the International Fashion Academy (IFA), which is a renowned fashion academy from Paris.

She says that they will continue to make new creations in the Fashion Corner in the temporary reception center Ušivak.

According to her, people on the move who come to this reception center want to show something they carry with them – starting with culture, tradition, different skills, so that every new piece created in their workshop will have its own new story.
